PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) ® credential is the most important industry-recognised certification for project managers. Globally recognised and demanded, the PMP® demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to successfully lead and direct projects.

Together with Engineers Ireland and the Centre of Project Management we will help you take the necessary steps and undertake the required training to sit the PMP examination.

Who should apply?

The PMP recognizes demonstrated competence in leading and directing project teams. If you’re an experienced project manager looking to solidify your skills, stand out to employers and maximize your earning potential, the PMP credential is the right choice for you.

Stage 1: Project Management 4 day modular course


This course is the start of the process to achieve Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. It is run in conjunction with the Centre for Project Management, University of Limerick.

Those completing this programme can claim 35 hours formal project management education, which is one of the pre-requisites for sitting the Project Management Professional Certification exam with the PMI.

Programme

The course consists of two modules, each module lasting two days. Attendance at module 1 is a prerequisite to attending module 2. There is a gap of 4 weeks between modules to allow some application of the techniques after the initial sessions.

Course content is structured against the five key project management phases & processes:

Stage 2: PMP Exam preparation accelerated course


This accelerated learning course is designed to help you prepare for the PMP exam.

The course will assist you to prepare for the exam and is designed to decrease your after-class study time from hundreds of hours to LESS than 40.
 
Unique features of this course include worked examples, case studies and other educational tools to help you understand—NOT MEMORIZE—the concepts necessary to pass the PMP exam.

Stage 3 - PMP Exam


Before you start stage 2 you should submit your application to PMI to take the exam

Requirements: To apply for the PMP exam you must first have obtained,

  • A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects.
    OR
  • A secondary diploma with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects.

Both paths require 35 hours of project management education, which is covered by attending stage 1 Project Management 4 day modular course

If you have passed the above requirements you are now ready to take the exam which you book with PMI.
