Training aim

The aim of this course is to assist you to maintain and overhaul pumps efficiently and speedily in order to avoid costly downtime and possible costly damage to the pump.

Learning objectives

You will become more familiar with the definitions and terms relating to pumps and pumping along with gaining a good understanding of the types of pumps most commonly used in industry and a detailed analysis of Pump Failure Causes is covered.   You will be clear on the main factors taken in to account in the selection of a pump for a specific application along with the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of pumps and pump specification for specific / special services.

Trainer's profile

Eamonn McDonagh Nat Cert Eng Nat Dip Tech Dip Tech Cert MIEI MIBD MIIE, Trainer with ILDANA TRAINING & CONSULTANCY, was Engineering Manager for the Concentrate Plant at Guinness Ireland where he was in charge of Utilities and Asset Care for the Roast Plant, Grain Handling, Maturation, Fermentation, Evaporation and Racking Plants for Guinness concentrate. He has an in depth knowledge of pumps and pumping and has been delivering Pump training over a number of years, both within Guinness and as an independent tutor.
