ILDÁNA  provides an array of mainly technical / engineering training courses and consultancy services to the public and private sectors throughout the island of Ireland. 

The various members of the ILDÁNA team are recognised as subject-matter-experts in their respective fields. Training aim

The aim is to build on the knowledge gained on the Level ONE course and allow  participants achieve a fuller understanding of the concepts, practise and theory of electricity as applied in industry.

Learning objectives

  • Understand power circuit calculation and local plant network capacities and relevant issues
  • Be able to carry out electrical tests on motors and other equipment with confidence
  • Deal with three phase power calculation and application of same to plant and machinery 
  • Achieve a more detailed knowledge of alternating current and electromagnetism
  • Feel comfortable reading basic electrical circuit drawings.

Series Resistance, Parallel Resistance, Cable Sizing, Volt Drop, Wattage KWh, Circuit Protection, Safety One, Fuses/MCBs, RCDs, Circuit Calculations, Lamps, Meters, A.C. Theory, Electro-Magnetism, Transformers, KVA, AC/DC Coils, Direct on Line, Hold Off Contact, Forward Reverse, Power Circuits, Vectors, Induction Motors, Dual Speed Motors, Circuit Applications, Power Supplies, Circuit Testing, Fault Finding, Electrical Safety Two.

Theory & Practical tests throughout the 2 x days.

Trainer's profile

Eamonn McDonagh C. Eng., M Sc. Energy Management, Trainer with ILDANA TRAINING & CONSULTANCY, was Engineering Manager for the Concentrate Plant at Guinness Ireland where he was in charge of Utilities and Asset Care for the Roast Plant, Grain Handling, Maturation, Fermentation, Evaporation and Racking Plants for Guinness concentrate. He has in in-depth knowledge of the design and safe effective O&M of boilers and steam systems, pumps and pumping design, instrumentation and pneumatics.  He has been delivering training on Steam and its Uses; Pump Maintenance and Overhaul; Basic Instrumentation both within Guinness and as an independent tutor. He tailors individual courses to suit the specific requirement of client companies.
