Seminar overview

With thousands of masonry arch bridges in Ireland, this timely seminar will look at current assessment practices and maintenance approaches of the masonry arch bridge stock in Ireland. This session will look at not only the domestic challenges presented, but will take an international perspective with a presentation from the Chair of the Working Group on Masonry Arch Bridges of the International Union of Railways.
Throughout the day, assessment methods will be examined in detail along with addressing the heritage and conservation perspectives - including environmental impacts - when undertaking works.
This seminar will be a comprehensive look at challenges and advancements in masonry arch bridge assessments and will explore current repair work methods to identify opportunities and to ensure that we can extend and preserve the life and history of our masonry arch bridge stock. 

Seminar aim

The aim of this seminar is to examine current assessment methods and repair approaches in the conservation of masonry arch bridge stock in Ireland.

Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing, fax or email.
