With over 25,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, and the public service. Today’s engineers work with a wide range of technologies, operate in global teams and are valued as innovators, technical experts and as business leaders. We support our members by ensuring that they are equipped to benefit from all the opportunities that a career in engineering brings, through a programme of ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) and certification. We build long-term relationships with our members, supporting their career development at all stages from students and recent graduates to senior engineers and CEOs.

Engineers Ireland is currently seeking to recruit a CPD Executive who will have responsibility for developing and managing technical training programmes and seminars for our members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and capture engineering trends and issues across industry and develop and manage CPD training courses and seminars for technical professionals
  • Engage with committees, members, technical experts, speakers and other stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with clients
  • Forge partnerships with key training providers and training partners
  • Identify and develop new and improved training opportunities for members
  • Ensure budgets and vital deliverables are maintained for training/seminars
  • Develop and execute marketing plans for CPD events
  • Deliver efficient, friendly and focussed responses to CPD queries by phone, person to person and through written communications
  • Manage special projects arising
  • Play an active part in achieving agreed team goals and objectives and contribute to other cross-functional teams
  • Undertake general administration and support duties
  • Contribute as part of the Engineers Ireland team to achieving our overall goals and objectives

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong sales and influencing skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Organisational and client relationship management skills are essential
  • Experience in project management and event management
  • Clarity, consistency and conscientiousness in all communications
  • Event planning and financial management skills
  • Knowledge of working across a range of platforms
  • Proven teamwork skills
  • Ability to confidently discuss and advise on all of Engineers Ireland’s CPD offerings
  • Experience in Learning and Development will be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • A high level of initiative, energy and motivation with an ability to devise and implement continual process improvements
  • A qualification in L&D, HR or event management would be an advantage

The role will be based at Engineers Ireland’s headquarters in Dublin and will report to the Associate Director CPD. As this role is primarily a business development and client engagement role business travel will be required. The successful candidate will require a full clean driving licence and access to a car. This role is initially on a two year fixed-term contract. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
