Administrator – Sector Support

We are seeking an administrator with strong organisational skills to cover a period of maternity leave (approximately 6 months in duration) in our Sector Support division.

Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 23,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, and the public service. We have a vibrant community of members and a wide range of partners whose effort, expertise and influence significantly increase our reach and impact.

Today’s engineers work with a wide range of technologies, operate in global teams and are valued as innovators, technical experts and as business leaders. We support our members by ensuring that they are equipped to benefit from all the opportunities that a career in engineering brings, through a programme of ongoing accredited professional development and certification. We build long term relationships with our members, supporting their career development at all stages from student and recent graduate to senior engineer and CEO.

Sector Support forms part of the Engineers Ireland’s Membership Team which is focused on growing and diversifying our member base. The sector support team provides assistance to member committees at regional, divisional and society level.

Purpose of Role:

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the sector support team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Committees at Region, Division and Society level
  • Assisting with organisation of Liaison Committee meetings
  • Maintaining a register of events and updating relevant websites accordingly
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year’s relevant administration experience
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of audiences
  • Self-motivated and outgoing with an ability to quickly establish rapport
  • Attentive to detail
  • Team player
  • Third level educational qualification  Experience of volunteering beneficial

The role will be based at Engineers Ireland headquarters in Dublin and will report to the Membership Directorate. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
