The Organisation

Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 23,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, state bodies and the public service. As one of the country’s largest and longestestablished professional bodies, we liaise closely with the engineering community to act as the voice of the profession and to promote excellence through a programme of ongoing accredited professional development and certification. As part of our STEPS programme, we run a variety of nationwide initiatives to encourage students to consider engineering as a career and to broaden their understanding of the profession and the potential employment opportunities available to them.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Team for the appointment of a Membership Development Executive on the basis of a two year fixed-term contract.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manages and drives membership growth according to business targets in order to significantly contribute to Engineers Ireland ambitious growth strategy.
  • Manage the new member pipeline from lead generation to qualification, onboarding, and membership.
  • Maintain and expand the database of prospects.
  • Build and manage relationships with key member organisations, ensuring high levels of engagement and satisfaction, delivering an increase in membership.
  • Build and manage relationships with academic partners to increase the number of student members and to create linkages between our members, employers, students and schools of engineering.
  • Communicate to potential members and students, the value of membership and create awareness of the importance of achieving a registered professional title from Engineers Ireland.
  • Work with the marketing team to refine the value proposition, ensuring that it is grounded in achieving measurable business results for the individual member and employers.
  • Work and collaborate with a diverse group of internal teams to implement services for members, provide feedback on member needs and identify innovative solutions to meet those needs.

Personal Qualities

  • Self-motivated, proactive team player.
  • Proven track record of highly professional business development and customer service skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and experience building strong internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to successfully communicate with contacts via phone, email, video and presentations.
  • Comfortable speaking at all organisational levels, from the C-level executives to the engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of working across a range of on-line platforms and technologies.
  • Ability to confidently discuss and advise on all aspects of Engineers Ireland’s Membership offerings.
  • Flexible as regard to working hours.

A full clean driving licence and own transport are requirements. Travel and other associated expenses will be reimbursed.
