Galway Engineers say going green key to future

Congratulations to the Engineering the West team - a subcommittee of the West Region of Engineers Ireland, who have made a submission to the "Your Country, Your Call" competition.  The proposal, "Ireland West 2020" is based around creating a vibrant and sustainable west of Ireland that will benefit from clusters in ICT, Medical Devices, Renewable Energy and Smart Ocean.

We are pleased to announce that at the close of voting at midnight on 30^th April, 2010 the proposal placed 2nd out of the 8,900 submissions to the competition, in the public voting.

The voting is important in developing a profile for the proposal; the Irish Times (Saturday) did a review of the eight proposals with the most support and our proposal got an excellent endorsement from Eddie O’Connor, Mainstream Renewable Power.
