Engineers Ireland announce "Begin Again" work placement collaboration

Engineers Ireland in collaboration with ICBE (Irish Centre for Business Excellence) is organising a pragmatic work placement programme for engineers recently made redundant. The "Begin Again" programme is supported by the Department of Education and Skills under the Labour Market Activation programme.

Candidates will be matched with appropriate host companies and will be afforded the opportunity to demostrate their potential to employers, develop new knowledge and skills, remain close to the employment market, network with peers and avail of personalised mentoring. Entry to the programme will be by competitive selection based on initial application form and telephone interview.

The programme will be delivered countrywide by the ICBE according to demand.

The training is combined with a 12 week work placement in suitable companies who have a specific need that the participants can address successfully and where there is potential for more sustained employment from the company.

The programme includes:

Three month work placement
Ten days training
Mentoring support
Networking with industry professionals
Jobs seekers allowence will be maintained
