Who is Bord Gáis Éireann?
Bord Gáis is a statutory body established under the Gas Act 1976. Bord Gáis is a leading energy supplier of gas and electricity to over 600,000 industrial, commercial and residential customers on the island of Ireland. Bord Gáis currently employs over 900 people. The company has developed one of Europe’s most modern energy networks and is expanding beyond its core gas business. Bord Gáis intends to consolidate and grow its position in the all-island energy markets, both gas and electricity, particularly through expansion into the electricity supply and power generations sectors.
The company is structured into the following business units: Networks which constructs and extends the natural gas network; Energy Supply which supplies gas and electricity to customers; and Strategic Investments which is responsible for pursuing strategic asset projects.
