Who is RUSAL Aughinish Limited?

RUSAL Aughinish is an alumina refinery situated on Aughinish Island on the Shannon estuary near Foynes, Co. Limerick.   We extract over 1.8 million tonnes of alumina per annum from imported bauxite.

We export this alumina to UK, Scandinavian and other European smelters where it produces over 0.9 million tonnes of aluminium.

Incorporated into the fabric of RUSAL Aughinish is a network of Nature Trails available to the general public.  There are four bird hides along the trails.  We also have a butterfly sanctuary and a dragonfly sanctuary.

Our Visitor Centre is open all year round.
