Midlands region

About the region

Our network provides a focal point for engineers of all grades and disciplines, and proactively encourages their continuous professional development through delivery of a varied programme of lectures, seminars and networking events.

We have developed close ties with Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT). Members of our network committee include staff from AIT, and the institution plays host each year to a number of our evening lectures and seminars.

Who can join?

• Engineers and engineering technicians working in the region
• Engineering consultancies and support servicing companies
• Local government and semi-state organisation workers involved in engineering
• Academic researchers, lecturers and students

How to join

If you are already a member of Engineers Ireland, and gave a correspondence address in Offaly, Laois, Westmeath or Longford when you joined, you have automatically been affiliated with this network.

If your correspondence address is outside these 3 counties, you can still join our network through the Members Area.

It is free to join and once you area registered with our network, you can:

• receive email updates on all events being run by the Midlands Region network
• use our network's discussion forum
• post comments on articles written by other network members
• comment on our network blog
• send messages to other members of our network
  

Events

Midlands Region network members receive invitations to a wide variety of educational and social events throughout the year, including:

• CPD-approved evening seminars and lectures delivered by experts across a broad range of engineering topics
• information evenings on achieving a registered title
• golf outings in clubs all around the region
• an annual general meeting for the Midlands Region network
