About
About the region
Our network provides a focal point for engineers of all grades and disciplines, and proactively encourages their continuous professional development through delivery of a varies programme of lectures, seminars and networking events.
We maintain strong links with the third-level institutions in the region including Queen's University Belfast, which plays host each year to the annual Engineers Ireland Sir Bernard Crossland Lecture, an event aimed at promoting the manufacturing sector in Northern Ireland.
We have developed close ties with other Engineers Ireland networks, including the North-east region network, with whom we co-host an annual lecture to promote greater networking between regional members.
We have recently taken the theme of inter-institution co-operation a step further by meeting with our colleagues at the local Institution of Civil Engineers (Northern Ireland) to discuss issues of mutual interest, such as joint technical papers and the promotion of engineering in schools.
Who can join?
- Engineers and engineering technicians working in the region
- Engineering consultancies and support servicing companies
- Local government and semi-state organisation workers involved in engineering
- Academic researchers, lecturers and students
