The mission of the Academic Society is to promote the advancement of academic standards in engineering and facilitate and organise activites for key academic groups.

About this network

The goal of the Academic Society is to develop and disseminate a Body of Knowledge for engineers working within the academic community. This Body of Knowledge will also serve those engineering professionals with an interest in academic topics.

Our network also provides opportunities for members to meet and socialise with their peers.

Who can join?

The Academic Society is a special interest group for engineers who lecture or conduct research in third-level institutions or graduate students who aspire to careers in academia.

How to join

If you are already a member of Engineers Ireland, you can join any number of Regions, Divisions and Societies in our Members Area

It is free to join our network, and once you join, you can:

Events

We run a number of lectures and events from September to June each year.

Our events are open to the public as well as to members of Engineers Ireland.

All our events allow members to make contacts and network with their peers and contribute to their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
