Learning Objectives

This course will provide an insight to pressure safety relief valves application, selection, operation and maintenance. It is a course that will focus on the fundamentals of pressure relief valve operation, design, sizing and selection, rupture discs, installation, operation and maintenance.

Delegates will gain knowledge in understanding safety relief valves performance and how the correct sizing, installation and operation of these valves effects the overalls safety integrity of the system.

Agenda

The primary objective is to give each delegate a fundamental knowledge of the basic principles of pressure safety relief valves. It will focus on the definitions of pressure safety relief devices such as relief valves, rupture discs, codes and standards and explanation of the important technical concepts relating to pressure safety relief valves.

The course will cover, but is not limited to;

  • Fundamentals of pressure relief devices
  • Pressure relief valves
  • Safety valves
  • Rupture Discs
  • Valve Materials and Design
  • Sizing and selection
  • Installation
  • Operation
  • Maintenance
  • Inspection
  • Testing

Who should attend?

This course is focused to the needs of chemical, instrumentation, maintenance, and mechanical engineers and technicians involved in the selection, sizing, specification, installation, operation and maintenance of pressure safety relief valves. The industries that this course would be relevant to are the biopharma, food and beverage, water and waste water, pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing and power generation
