Learning objectives

The primary objective of this course is to teach delegates the concepts of Building Information Modeling introduce the tools for parametric building design and documentation using Revit Architecture.

Agenda

This course covers the basics of Revit Architecture, from schematic design through construction documentation. Delegates are introduced to the concepts of Building Information Modeling and the tools for parametric building design and documentation.

  • Working with Revit Elements and Families
  • Creating a Basic Floor Plan
  • Creating and Modifying Levels

  • Managing Views
  • Controlling Object Visibility
  • Creating and Modifying Section and Elevation Views

  • Applying and Removing Constraints
  • Developing the Building Model
  • Creating and Modifying Floors
  • Adding and Modifying Ceilings
  • Adding and Modifying Roofs
  • Adding Curtain Walls

Day 3

  • Creating Callout Views
  • Working with Detailed and Drafting Views
  • Working with Drafting Views

Who should attend

New Autodesk Revit Architecture users or other Autodesk software users who want to learn essential elements of Autodesk Revit Architecture.
 

Prerequisites

No previous CAD experience is necessary. However, architectural design, drafting or engineering is highly recommended. It is recommended that delegates have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, 8.x or 10.

Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email. Engineers Ireland will not be liable for any costs in the event of a course being re-scheduled.  This applies, but is not limited, to any travelling, subsistence or consequential expenses incurred by delegates.
