Course Overview

This is a course designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Facilities Manager with particular emphasis on the strategic perspective of service delivery. The focus is on enabling you to communicate effectively with Senior Management and develop and build effective relationships with suppliers and the FM Team. It consists of tutorial delivery combined with a series of workshops for each element of the course. This is coupled with regular interaction between the tutors and the delegates.

  • Change Management – Guiding and leading the FM team through change in the organisation and the workplace
  • Communication and Presentations Skills – Learning and developing the necessary skills in delivering content and communicating effectively
  • Strategic Procurement – Demand management and value engineering. Identifying and developing the supply of services to meet the needs of the organisation
  • Customer Relations – Delivering exceptional service through customer centric Facilities Management
  • Team Building – Guiding principles and steps to building an effective team

Who should attend?

The course is intended for Facilities Managers who have three or more years’ experience and who want to develop a strategic approach to delivering FM in the workplace. It is suitable for both those who are already engaged at a Senior level or who are looking to move up to the next management level.

Trainer's Profile

Pat Gaughan has over twenty years’ experience working at a senior level in Facilities Management both in Ireland and abroad. Most recently he has worked for CBRE as an Account Director in EMEA. Pat has also worked for a variety of blue chip companies such as Aviva, Virgin Media, Bilfinger and the National Museum. Pat is an experienced and qualified tutor and has previously delivered FM courses for BIFM. Pat has an Honours degree in European Studies and Law from UL and is a Qualified Lead Auditor. He is currently Chairman of BIFM Ireland.

Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email. Engineers Ireland will not be liable for any costs in the event of a course being re-scheduled.  This applies, but is not limited, to any travelling, subsistence or consequential expenses incurred by delegates.
