Seminar overview

***This event was originally scheduled for 01/03/2018 but was rescheduled to 22/03/2018 due to weather. ***

The Local Government Division Seminar 2018 is centred around the theme of Resilient Infrastructure. Extreme weather events have become more common in recent years resulting in design and maintenance challenges for Local Authority Engineers. Restoring infrastructural operability after events such as Storm Ophelia will be an recurring operation. Budgetary challenges, capacity issues and  working with other specialists across disciplines present other demands.

Alongside these challenges, public expectations are increasing the pressures on infrastructural resilience even during exceptional events.

The Local Government Division Seminar 2018 will discuss how local authority engineers might respond to these challenges and best prepare their staff and infrastructure; current and future.
