Course aim

To provide all engineering grades who have an interest in temporary traffic management design with the core principles of traffic management as an introduction to the qualifications required to develop their career in this industry.

They should also:
 
  • Have a concise knowledge of good design practices
  • Be up to date with the current changes within the industry
  • Be aware of common pitfalls with regard to planning, design and implementation of traffic management
 

Programme

The course has been divided into 6 individual modules:

  • Module 1: Traffic Management Background, Legislation, Roles and Responsibilities
  • Module 2: Guidance for Traffic Management Design at Roadworks
  • Module 3: Legislation, Guidance and Signing, Lighting and Guarding Training Revisions
  • Module 4: Common Traffic Management Pitfalls
  • Module 5: Case Studies (A-C)
  • Module 6: Traffic Management the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Who should attend?

All persons who may have a responsibility for temporary traffic management as part of their civil engineering role and Road Authority Engineers who are required to audit temporary traffic management schemes.

Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email. Engineers Ireland will not be liable for any costs in the event of a course being re-scheduled.  This applies, but is not limited, to any travelling, subsistence or consequential expenses incurred by delegates.
