Seminar Overview

The agriculture sector accounts for 30% of Ireland’s overall greenhouse gas emissions, with this number expected to increase by 12% by 2020. It is widely acknowledged that environmental sustainability must be a key consideration in the food production process going forward. The implications of emissions have the potential to alter plant growth, impact water and nutrient availability and elevate temperatures and CO2. If Ireland wants to keep its renowned ‘green’ image actions need to be taken sooner rather than later.
