Communications Skills – Level 1
Effective communication skills have been identified as one of the key attributes of successful managers. An ability to present the company in a professional and positive manner whilst confidently communicating the relevant information clearly, results in increased productivity and potential cost savings. This workshop focuses on practical skills including listening, questioning and responding assertively in everyday situations. Supported by exercises, role plays discussions and case studies, active participation and contribution is encouraged and developed and skills introduced are applied and practiced.

Overview
This workshop is designed for junior engineering professionals to develop their confidence and improve their verbal communication skills in day to day business activities.

Trainer's Profile
Penny Withey has been in Human Resources and Training since 1984. She has been delivering training in Ireland for the last eight years. Her focus in Ireland has been mainly in the delivery of non-technical skills to all levels of staff from Senior Managers to Graduates. She has delivered courses in assertive communication in Third Level Education (Smurfit, UCD, DCU, Trinity and DIT), Civil Service Departments (DPP, Transport, Agriculture), Health Services, Private Sector Companies, Enterprise Boards and Skillnets.
She holds the following qualifications:
