Overview

This course is designed to provide delegates with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be a proficient designer using Eurocode 3 Design of Steel Structures. The course will rely on practical application of knowledge acquired using a series of workshops (a calculator is required).

Trainer’s Profile

Colin Short, Colin Short Associates Consulting Engineers
Colin Short has a wealth of experience working as a consultant engineer, with a large part of his experience in steel work construction.
Colin Short acts as liaison engineer between Ireland and the project teams in Europe in the development of the Eurocode dealing with steel structures; he has also been part of the mirror group for timber and a member of the Eurocode Advisory Group for Ireland. Along with a small mirror group he has been responsible for developing the National Application Documents that must be used with EN 1993 when designing steel structures in Ireland.
