Overview
The course will present methods of design of foundations, piles, retaining walls and slopes which will comply with Eurocode 1997, Geotechnical Design- Pt 1:General Rules and to the Irish National Annex to that code. Ireland is unique in permitting the use of all three design approaches in its National Annex. The course will outline the basic principles of the EN 1997 and of the different design approaches and give design examples of the use of each approach.
