About the speakers

Karl Purcell is the Programme Manager of the Behavioural Economics Unit at SEAI. The unit applies insights from psychology and economics to deliver programmes that are carefully tailored to make it easy and attractive for citizens and businesses to avail of the advantages of clean energy. This will have a range of benefits for people in Ireland, including lower energy bills, warmer homes, improved energy security, and reductions in our greenhouse gas emissions.

Oliver Hynes is founder and CEO of HUB Controls, a smart thermostat company based in the Synergy Centre in IT Tallaght. Hub Controls came into existence in 2015 as a result of Oliver’s desire to help his sister manage her home utility bills. This vision remains, and HUB Controls has grown substantially, with customers across Ireland and the UK with plans to expand to the US. Oliver has over 25 years' industry experience in Ireland and abroad. He has successfully launched heating products and businesses across Europe for Quinn Group, Barlo, Irsap and DeLonghi.

Derek Roddy is co-founder and CEO of Climote.  Climote have developed award winning disruptive technology that will change the way energy in a property is controlled, managed and monitored. This patented product has a worldwide application and Climote are currently partnering with leading energy utilities and mobile telcos worldwide to bring this product to market.
