About the event

In this presentation Kevin McMullan will give an introduction to the European Space Agency before discussing the design of a typical Low-earth Orbit satellite/ground segment using Sentinel-5 Precursor as an example. This will illustrate the ESA Project Structure and Project Schedule/Challenges again using S-5p as an example, including some of the mechanical tests involved and some of the unique atmospheric chemistry measurement data from S-5p in orbit that is available.  He will outline some of the more interesting measurements from other satellite programmes he has worked on over the years: ERS-1/2, Meteosat Second Generation (European Weather Satellite) and SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) Mission.
