About the event

This presentation will address the key aspects of fire safety legislation together with common on-site problems/issues. An introduction to the core elements of fire safety design will also be presented, together with a view of innovative fire resisting construction. The lecture should be of interest to all those dealing with fire safety in both domestic and commercial projects.

About the speaker

Andrew MacIlwraith ME - Senior Executive Fire Officer at Cork County Council - Fire and Building Control Department
Andrew has over 20 years' experience in the industry and is currently in charge of the North Division, responsible for operations, fire prevention and building control.  He is a visiting lecturer at Cork IT, lecturing in Structural Analysis, Eurocodes, Building Regulatory Engineering, Fire Engineering, Materials, Engineer & Society and Applied Mechanics.
