About the event

The Energy Ambassadors Programme is a community initiative from the Dunleer Community Development Board in conjunction with the North East region of Engineers Ireland. It is delivered through a facilitator led, highly interactive hour long session which covers the following:
1. Conservation in Energy use
2. Control over energy usage
3. Greater efficiency in energy use
4. Understanding energy and renewables
5. Technology and products to manage energy needs
6. Renewable energy sources for Ireland
7. Energy and renewables knowledge transfer to communities for communities

About the speakers

The speakers on the night will be Eugene Conlon, Gerry Reaburn and Elizabeth Kearney.

Eugene Conlon - Manager Energy Team.
He has over ten year's experience delivering skills training services and solutions to Irish business. He led the establishment of Dunleer as a Sustainable Energy Community, and the successful implementation of a Better Energy Communities programme in the town.

Elizabeth Kearney – Better Energy Communities Advisor
Elizabeth is a member of the Dunleer Community Development Board. Her background is within the manufacturing industry with experience within quality control, research and development and customer service functions. Through the Energy Community Scheme (BEC), Elizabeth helps to deliver sustainable energy solutions to the residential, community and commercial premises in the Town of Dunleer. Elizabeth is the lead for the 2017 planned BEC scheme to incorporate Mid Louth.

Gerry Reaburn – Energy and Renewables Specialist
Gerry is an Independent Renewable Energy professional who specialises in Rural Community Development. He works as a trainer, lecturer, researcher and teacher, working mainly from the Centre for Energy and Renewables at Dundalk institute of Technology (CREDIT).His main areas of work are in sustainable energy solutions for individuals, homes, farms, businesses and communities.
