About the event

CIWEM (Republic of Ireland Branch) and Engineers Ireland's South East region in association with IT Carlow and Veolia Ireland are hosting a water and wastewater seminar during Engineers Week with two keynote presentations that will have broad interest.

Frank Murphy, Process Engineering Manager at Veolia Ireland will discuss Innovative Applications of Moving Bed Bio-Reactor Technology for Wastewater Treatment

Brian Deegan, Catchment Scientist/Lead Ecologist with Irish Water Asset Management will discuss Environmental Planning requirements associated with Water and Wastewater Infrastructure

  • Reserved parking will be available for participants
  • Finger food will be provided from 1.30pm with presentations commencing at 2.30pm

About the speakers

Frank Murphy Chartered Engineer - Process Engineering Manager, Veolia
Frank has over 10 years' experience in the Water Industry, holding roles in design, operation, commissioning and project management. Frank's specific expertise is in Water and Wastewater Processes. ​

Brian Deegan - Catchment Scientist and Lead Ecologist with Irish Water
Brian has over 17 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors, in environmental planning and assessments of plans, programmes and projects of infrastructure projects. He has an MSc in Estuarine Ecology, a PhD in Freshwater Ecology and is responsible for providing environmental and ecological expertise and advice across the Asset Management, Asset Delivery, Asset Operations and Major Project functions of Irish Water.
