Egis Road and Tunnel Operation Ireland (ERTO) is part of Egis Projects Ireland. We manage the Dublin Tunnel (DT), the Jack Lynch Tunnel (JLT) in Cork, and the Motorway Traffic Control Centre (MTCC) for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). We are located in the Dublin Tunnel Control Building on East Wall Road, Dublin 3.

We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Manager on a Fixed Term Contract to provide Maternity Cover to support the Maintenance Department.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all planned and unplanned aspects of maintenance in Dublin Tunnel, Jack Lynch Tunnel & the Motorway Traffic Control Centre, including management of staff, contractors and assets and equipment. The Maintenance Manager will operate as part of the Senior Management Team. The position predominantly based at the Tunnel Control Building of the Dublin Tunnel but is required to travel to the Tunnel Management Building for the Jack Lynch Tunnel in Cork to enable the responsibilities of the role to be fulfilled.

Activities & Responsibilities

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for management of the control systems and maintenance of the Dublin Tunnel, Jack Lynch Tunnel and the Motorway Traffic Control Centre.
  • Responsible for the development, management and implementation of the Routine, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance and associated improvement works.
  • Management of assets, equipment and maintenance service providers and associated support contracts.
  • Responsible for business continuity and provision of initial and follow-up response by staff and contractors to ensure safety and availability.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
  • Accountable for the safe conduct of all activities under their control.
  • Responsible for planning of all work and supervision during scheduled and unscheduled tunnel closures.
  • Management of all aspects of the maintenance team located at both Dublin and Jack Lynch Tunnel including Technicians, Engineers, Planners, Administrators etc. including performance management and provision of training.
  • Responsible for compliance with all contractual, regulatory and legal requirements in all maintenance related activities.
  • Provision of reports relating to the Maintenance Department required to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Management of Damage to property process
  • Attendance and presentation of maintenance functions as required within the company and to Client and other stakeholders as required, typically on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the development and recording of KPI’s, reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Quality management system, ISO 14001:2015 Environment management system, OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational health and safety management system, ISO 55001:2014 Asset management
  • and ISO 27001:2013 Information security management system. The Maintenance Manager is the ‘Asset Owner’.
  • Quality management owner for all maintenance related processes and procedures. Conduct periodic reviews and development of the Maintenance related documentation, Operation and Maintenance manuals and all associated Maintenance Standards & Procedures to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
  • Financial management: Management of annual budget, forecasts and monthly performance for maintenance activities; sub-contract negotiations.
  • Interaction with Financial, Operations, QESH, IT and Project as deemed necessary to fulfil the role.

Requirements:

  • A level eight qualification recognised by the National Framework of Qualifications in Engineering or other equivalent qualification
  • At least 10 years’ maintenance and/ or engineering experience
  • Asset Management experience, where PASS 55/ ISO 55000 experience would be an advantage
  • Maintenance Management System experience would be an advantage
  • The Maintenance Manager will need to have a flexible attitude to hours of work and will be required to work non-regular hours, as works can only be adequately carried out during off-peak hours. This will include day shifts, night shifts during closures, being regularly on-call and available for callouts and on occasion, weekends.
