She has had 24 years’ experience with the ESB, progressing from their graduate programme in 1991, through a number of middle management and senior management positions. At an early stage in her career, Marguerite was entrusted with selecting the appropriate framework for the National Network Renewal Plan, in order to maximise the benefit for a €300m investment. Since that time she has led a number of projects including the delivery of a €400m special dividend in 2013/14 to Government through the sale and refinancing of generation assets.

Marguerite has recently been appointed Managing Director of ESB Networks, a separate limited company within the ESB group, which is primarily an electricity distribution company providing electricity services to all 2.4 million customers in the Republic of Ireland. Here she holds a number of responsibilities. These include delivering both operating and capital expenditure, business performance - in line with regulatory license obligations - and the 5 year price reviews agreed with the Commission for Energy Regulation. She works with a wide range of policy, regulatory and industry stakeholders to meet the needs of customers, society and the economy and ensuring that stakeholder relationships are maintained and fostered.

Marguerite has served as a board member of the Energy Association of Ireland, was selected in the Silicon Republic 2014 Top 100 Women in STEM, and is a member of Council and the Executive Board of Engineers Ireland. She was formally elected Vice President of Engineers Ireland on 31 May 2017.
