Located in Naas Co Kildare, Shorcontrol Safety ltd was established in 1998 and is a Safety company specialising in Safety Training and Occupational Hygiene Consultancy. Shorcontrol Safety operates a training quality system approved by City & Guilds, QQI and IOA & P.H.E.C.C. Training takes place both at the centre in Naas and at the client sites.
Training aim
This course trains delegates to inspect plant machinery. Delegates learn about legislation, responsibilities, inspection procedures and reporting methods.
Learning objectives
This course is intended for those from a relevant engineering background with several years’ experience of plant maintenance , to be nomimated as a competent perspm to inspect plant. The overall aim of the course is that the delegate will be able to refer to relevant legislation, areas of responsibility, inspection procedures, methods, recording inspections, certification and defect reports.

This course will add to competency and will facilitate completion of GA1 form
Trainer's profile
Brian Touchin is a Contract instructor to the Plant Mechanic department CITB NCC East. He also carries out Thorough Examinations, servicing and repairs on the various items of plant and machinery on site at NCC East, Bircham Newton
Shorcontrol Safety previously contracted CITB in the UK to deliver this course in Ireland but due to the closure of the international offices of CITB it is no longer legally allowed to offer CITB accrediatation if the course is done outside the UK.

Assessment & certification
Delegates will receive a Shorcontrol Safety certificate upon sucessful completion of the course and CPD points are awarded from Engineers Ireland
