Course Aim

Whilst SuDS have been embedded in policy and associated documents such as GSDS for some time, the level of design input required for SuDS to achieve planning approval has evolved to one which is more landscape based, with a reduced reliance on conventional pipework. This change in mindset underpinned with the increased importance on Green Infrastructure strategies and County Plan Policy Objectives.

This course aims to provide delegates with review of the range of requirements to be considered when evaluating SuDS schemes submitted as part of planning applications.

Course Overview

The course will identify common policy driver requirements us on the core aspects of SuDS evaluation. Fundamental checks will be identified along with the package of information which would be anticipated for evaluation.  The 4 pillars of SuDS will be considered and how these interlink in terms of delivery of SuDS which deliver against these 4 pillars.

Course Objectives

After the course, the participants should:

  • Be aware of the level of information required to assess a submission
  • Be enabled to intelligently assess SuDS submissions
  • Have informed discussion at pre-application stage
