Kildare County Council and Murphy International Ltd have achieved the Engineers Ireland Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Accredited Employer standard, in recognition of their continuing professional development strategy.

The Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer Standard is a strategic framework which enables engineers and engineering employers raise competency levels and deliver tangible business benefits by investing in engineers through continuing professional development.

Based in Newbridge, Murphy International Ltd. is a leading engineering and construction firm established in 1968. With a strong heritage in both the UK and Ireland, the family-owned business works across a range of specialist sectors including building, civil and ground engineering and employs almost 400 professionals, including 39 engineers and 2 technicians.

Kildare County Council, the authority responsible for local government in County Kildare, employing approximately 1050 staff including 76 engineers and 41 technicians, also achieved the CPD Accredited Employer standard in recognition of its CPD strategy.

Caroline Spillane, Director General of Engineers Ireland congratulated both organisations on achieving the accredited standard and said: “I wish to congratulate both Kildare County Council and Murphy International for their dedication to professional development and achieving CPD Accredited Employer status. These organisations have a strong commitment to developing their people and will continue to benefit from the strategic approach facilitated by the CPD Accredited Employer standard.”
