Engineers Ireland is seeking to appoint a Process Improvement Executive to support the ongoing work of the Finance and Operations team at Engineers Ireland.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

One of the responsibilities of the Finance and Operations Team is to manage and improve the Finance, ICT and general business processes and support other organisational activities when required. A key part of this is the identification and roll out of a number of ICT, business transformation and process improvement projects.

This role will suit someone with a number of years' experience in process improvement, the ability to project manage in a complex business environment and who easily engages with both key stakeholders and customers. The position will appeal to a self-starting, energetic individual who enjoys fresh challenges in an organisation undergoing increased growth and transformation. The person will have experience in requirements definition, identifying optimum solutions and will have a proven history of working on projects from inception to close. They will also:

  • Assume responsibility for challenging current business practice and for continual process improvement and innovation.
  • Establish best practice processes, controls and procedures within Finance and Operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of systems to assess best fit for purpose, usability and optimisation opportunities for the business and report results.
  • Assume responsibility for requirements definition, identifying new project opportunities and make relevenat changes to strategies, structures, policies, processes and technology.
  • Coordinate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and enhance and support end user experience.
  • Lead workshops with business subject matter experts to produce As-Is and To-Be Process models to drive the requirements phase.
  • Lead and embed the transition of projects into operational areas by supporting cross functional business practice change, development of policies and procedures, reporting and training.
  • Support the transition of projects into operational areas by supporting technology UAT.
  • Conduct reviews/assessments on the success of change post-implementation to ensure that benefits are realised and/or implement measures to address any shortfalls.
  • Responsible for interface support between the Finance and Operations sub-teams.
  • Contribute to membership and financial processing activities.

Personal qualities

  • Educated to degree level standard or equivalent.
  • 5 years proven capability and experience in a comparable role.
  • Ability to work in complex business environments.
  • Proven track record in project management, problem solving and achieving deadlines.
  • Significant experience of delivering change in a complex environment, including experience in introducing new technologies and efficiencies.
  • Proven track record of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of lean practices and/or 6 Sigma practices highly desirable.
  • Experience in an eduational institution / professional body desirable but not essential.
  • Experienced in engaging both stakeholder and customers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent ICT skills with the capacity to maximise technology to increase efficiencies.
  • Experience of working with procure-to-pay systems and related services.

The role will be based at Engineers Ireland headquarters in Dublin. This is a 2 year fixed term contract. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
