Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 23,000 individual members, we are one of the country’s largest professional bodies. Engineers Ireland is wholly committed to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of engineering professionals and actively promotes life-long learning as a means by which all fields of engineering support our national economy.

The Role:

Engineers Ireland is committed to ensuring that engineers and technicians maintain a high level of professional competence. We are seeking to recruit a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Executive to further this objective.

Reporting to the CPD Director, you will assist in a spectrum of our CPD services with your main focus being on the design, delivery and management of a structured mandatory CPD system and programme for our members. The role will be on a two year fixed-term contract.

Main Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the development and implementation stages of a mandatory CPD programme for all non-student members of Engineers Ireland
  • Continually improve the CPD system and services for members. Support members in their engagement with the mandatory CPD system
  • Develop and lead a marketing and communications programme to ensure meaningful engagement with all stakeholders on mandatory CPD
  • Plan, implement, review and improve the mandatory CPD policy, processes, programme and support systems through the development and roll out of a pilot programme in 2016
  • Market the CPD Accredited Employer standard to engineering-led employers
  • Provide best-in-class L&D consultancy and support to participating organisations throughout the CPD Accreditation process in order to assist them to achieve and maintain the ‘CPD Accredited Employer’ standard
  • Lead CPD Accreditation audits on behalf of Engineers Ireland
  • Research and develop content for high-quality CPD seminars and programmes
  • Contribute to process improvements and be active in Knowledge Management as part of the CPD team
  • Play an active part in achieving agreed team goals and objectives and contribute to other Engineers Ireland crossfunctional teams as necessary
  • Undertake general administration and support duties as required

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Degree level qualification in Learning & Development, Human Resource Development or Engineering Discipline
  • Knowledge of best practices in Learning & Development is essential
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Strong influencing and marketing skills
  • Possess an excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Work experience across a range of engineering industry sectors would be an advantage
  • Strong initiative, energy and motivation

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
