The Up-Flo™ Filter is a flexible, high-performance treatment solution that can be customised to meet environmental discharge requirements specific to local authority planning conditions.
Its advanced stormwater treatment system combines sedimentation and screening with filtration to deliver exceptional surface water pollution removal. Which is verified to remove 80% TSS but with demonstrated removal rates of up to 98%.
Designed with efficiency, longevity and upkeep in mind, the Up-Flo™ Filter delivers high loading rates and long media life, which means you’ll get high-quality water treatment for longer periods between servicings.

Targeted pollutants include:
- Very fine particles;
- Trash and floatables;
- Liquid and sediment bound hydrocarbons;
- Sediment bound heavy metals;
- Sediment bound nutrients.
Applications cover:
The Up-Flo™ Filter is perfectly suited to industrial sites, locations contributing runoff to wetlands/protected regions, or any area requiring a high level of treatment.
- Remove solids, nutrients and metals from runoff;
- Source control for redevelopment or new construction;
- Treatment of water quality volume detention systems;
- Sites operating under industrial or multi-sector general permits;
- Low-impact development (LID), sustainable drainage (SuDS), LEED® and water-sensitive urban design (WSUD) projects.
The Up-Flo™ Filter provides SuDS Mitigation Indices for total suspended solids (TSS), metals and hydrocarbons (oils). Both sand and CPZ media achieve indices of 0.80 for TSS and 0.70 for hydrocarbons, while CPZ media provides a higher metals mitigation index of 0.77, compared with 0.60 for sand media.

How it works:
- Stormwater enters the chamber through an inlet pipe or grate and begins to fill the chamber;
- Flow is directed upward through angled screens and Filter Modules;
- Sediment and debris settle in the sump;
- Oil and floatables rise to the surface;
- Treated water passes through the Filter Module and exits via the Outlet Modules into the outlet pipe;
- Excess flows are diverted through a Siphonic Bypass, which also acts as a baffle to retain oil and floatable debris;
- After a storm, water drains through a filtered Drain Down Port, preventing pollutant leaching and preserving filter media between events.
Benefits:
- Adaptable for any catchment;
- Two-stage treatment in one unit;
- Compact footprint;
- Low-maintenance design.
Case Study – Grand Canal Quay
The challenge for the customer was that they required a customisable, high-performance treatment solution which would capture sediment, oils, heavy metals and nutrients from stormwater runoff, to protect the local watercourse – Grand Canal Quay. The solution also had to fit within an existing chamber within a tight footprint.
The solution was the Up-Flo® Filter with its bespoke design to suit the existing square chamber. It was provided in kit form with easy-to-follow instructions, allowing the customer to easily fit the unit on site themselves in a very short space of time.
Its small footprint makes it ideal for space-restricted urban environments, while its lightweight construction enabled fast, crane-free installation – reducing programme time and cost.
