John Power, director general of Engineers Ireland and Damien Owens, registrar with the organisation, are currently in New Zealand to attend the annual meetings of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) in Wellington, New Zealand. The IEA is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its foundation, during which it has introduced the Washington, Sydney and Dublin Accords to aid recognition of academic qualifications and a series of mobility agreements to enhance professional mobility. Coincidentally, this is also the centenary of the founding of IPENZ - Engineers New Zealand. At a function to mark both landmark achievements,  John Power presented Kevin Thompson, president of IPENZ, with a commemorative plaque.  The photo shows the director general being presented with copies of the History of the Washington Accord and An Evolving Order - IPENZ 1914-2014.
