Engineers Ireland has congratulated Atkins Ireland, CORA Consulting Engineers, Monaghan County Council, and TJ O'Connor & Associates, after they were awarded the organisation's CPD Accredited Employer standard. Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer Standard is a strategic framework which enables engineers and engineering-led employers raise competency levels and deliver tangible business benefits by investing in their engineers through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CORA Consulting Engineers operates from Dublin and provides a wide range of structural and civil engineering services. Monaghan County Council provides a vast range of services through its engineering team. TJ O'Connor & Associates Consulting Engineers has an 81-year history as a consulting engineering firm offering civil and structural services.

Four diverse organisations range in size


These four diverse organisations (global and Irish consulting engineering firms, and also a local authority) range in size in terms of staff numbers, demonstrating how the standard is beneficial to a wide variety of organisations. The Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer logo recognises good organisational practice in the area of professional development for engineers and technical staff and receives the formal backing of the Department of Education & Skills. At the parchment presentation held recently in Engineers Ireland’s Dublin office, director general Caroline Spillane congratulated the organisations on achieving the accredited standard: “Investment in professional development is essential for engineering organisations to gain a competitive edge and achieve results on both a local and international level.
