The UCD College of Engineering and Architecture will be partaking in the university-wide Postgraduate Open Evening taking place in the O’Brien Centre of Science in UCD. The event, which is set for Monday  2 March from 5pm-7pm, will give those thinking of pursuing a master’s degree in engineering the opportunity to speak with staff and current postgraduate students. Admission is free but booking is essential (book here). UCD College of Engineering has over 150 years of history and experience, comprising Ireland’s largest research and educational community of engineers. The research activity in the college is substantial, with global recognition in a number of areas including energy, food, transport, bioprocess and pharmaceutical, water, biomedical, materials, advanced manufacturing, internet of things and the built environment. The College of Engineering now offers 27 taught master’s degrees. This variety allows engineering graduates the opportunity for in-depth specialisation. The areas of engineering specialisation can be categorised under the following headings:

  • Biomedical engineering;
  • Biopharmaceutical engineering;
  • Biosystems & food engineering;
  • Civil, structural & environmental engineering;
  • Electrical, electronic & communications engineering;
  • Energy engineering;
  • Engineering with business;
  • Mechanical & materials engineering.
The evening will also provide potential students with the opportunity to ask more general queries on master’s degree offerings in UCD and explore opportunities to fund postgraduate studies.
