EPS has announced plans for a new design and manufacturing centre of excellence in Mallow, Co Cork. The €3 million investment will create 50 additional high skilled jobs, supporting EPS's activities in the water sector. EPS is a leading design, build and asset management companies, employing 340 people throughout Ireland, UK and Middle East. The new facility, currently subject to a planning application process with Cork County Council, will be an industry leading centre of excellence for the design and manufacture of key products utilised in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants. Subject to a successful outcome to the planning process, the company intends to begin construction this summer, with an expected completion time of 12 months. The project will also create 35 construction jobs to facilitate its completion. Patrick Buckley, deputy managing director at EPS Group, described the expansion as the next step in the development of EPS. He believes the centre of excellence will reinforce the company’s position as a leading water and wastewater company. EPS design, manufacture, install and operate 100% of the water and wastewater infrastructure it provides and we are unique in our sector for this. “This new facility is designed for and will be equipped with the latest in BIM design, lean manufacturing equipment and processes which will enable us to lead in the off-site build and construction methodology as well as skid assembly and containerised plug and play water and wastewater solutions,” he added. Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Minister Bruton welcomed the project. “EPS is a great example of the type of company we are trying to support – an Irish engineering company, operating at the cutting edge of its sector, selling its goods around the world, and creating jobs in a regional town. This is a great boost for Mallow and I am delighted to congratulate Patrick and all his team,” he said.
