Course Overview

Following the introduction of revised legislation and new guidance documents this short 1 day course has been devised to highlight the changes and the implications for those responsible for the design and management of temporary traffic management.

Course Aim

New legislation is being introduced in 2019. This will include a revision of the existing Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual, a revision of the existing Guidance for the Control and Management of Traffic at Roadworks and the creation of a new Operations Manual for Chapter 8.

The course will set out the philosophy behind the changes and why it was necessary make them. In doing so it will take the attendees through all of the major changes explaining how they are to be implemented. The new changes will have a big impact on the industry and with only a 12 month interim period to affect the changes there is a lot of work to be done.

This training course should ensure attendees understand the new philosophy with regard to temporary traffic management and its implementation. In particular, how we risk assess certain situations, provide safe passage for vulnerable road users and protect the workforce. It will also provide a brief on all of the new training courses that are being written as a result of the new legislation.
