Reinstating your membership?

Applicants who were previously a member MIEI, are required to reinstate. If you choose to complete the online application, the Membership Team will be in contact upon receipt of your application as a reinstatement fee will apply.

Alternatively, phone the Membership Team 01 665 1334 or email membership@engineersireland.ie for advice on reactivating your membership.

Why do we need to know this?

Our membership grades are based on your engineering qualifications, so we need to know these in order to process your application. If you hold more than one qualification, you can provide details of each one, starting with your undergraduate qualification first.

Why do we need to know this?

You may be eligible for a grade of membership based on a Mutual Recognition Agreement between Engineers Ireland and another professional engineering body.

Why do we need to know this?

The Engineers Ireland Refer a Friend Scheme is for members wishing to recommend membership of Engineers Ireland to an eligible friend or colleague. Upon election of your friend or colleague we'll send you a Perfect Card to the value of €100 as a gift to say thank you.

I agree that upon applying for membership or reinstating membership, the 20% administration fee will apply in the following cases :

  • to individuals who do not pay the compulsory reinstatement fee within 30 days of submitting an online application
  • to applications that are withdrawn prior to final decision the Membership and Qualifications Board on the application
