To provide the attendee with the key elements required to specify a fixed gas detection system
Upon completion of the course, the attendee will be in a position to write the specifications for new fixed gas detection installations covering a wide variety of gases and gas hazards.
The course will initially classify the type of gas hazards each gas can present and their associated exposure limits and explosive levels.
It will then allow them to identify the gas risks and specify the type of sensor required, optimum sensor locations andlimitations to the technologies.
The course aims to provide engineers and specifiers with the tools necessary to write the specifications for a fixed gas detection system into a projects documents and their associated drawings. The course will cover Gas detection alarm levels and exposure limits, choice of gas sensor, optimum positioning of sensors, specification of Control Panel, ATEX Zoning,
Gas Detection Legislation and Integration of gas detection systems into site management systems such as fire alarm, BMS and SCADA.
