Garo is delighted to be at the forefront of solar power (photovoltaic) systems manufacturing and distribution in Ireland. Our brand new range of photovoltaic products provide an end-to-end solution, suitable for commercial and residential installations. All products are developed to the highest standards and are fully guaranteed. Here we are outlining the benefits of adopting this technology for your customers.
Photovoltaics or PV is a potential new high-value business area for Irish electrical contractors. PV systems have been extremely successful in Europe and continues to be an important industry there. The cost of PV systems has been decreasing year on year, due to advances in technology and economies of scale, and are now at a very competitive level relative to the cost of traditional generated electricity. Photovoltaic installations have traditionally been supported by government initiatives such as grants, feed-in tariff s (FIT) or regulation. In Ireland, there are no financial incentives available, although there is a commitment to provide a feed in tariff before the end of 2016.
Since 2008, Part L of the buildings regulations have required a renewable component for new domestic dwellings. In the past, this has been achieved by installing different heat pump solutions or solar thermal heating systems (water heating) which would have been traditionally supplied by heating and ventilation companies. PV installations are now an extremely viable alternative to meet part L requirements. Photovoltaics are an electrical solution to Part L that takes solar radiation and converts it into electricity that exactly matches the characteristic of grid generated electricity. Efficiency of systems depend on the amount of solar radiation rather than ‘hot, sunny weather’ and are perfectly suited to Ireland.
