Joining from overseas

Global Engineers are individuals who have studied overseas or who have identified Ireland as their next country in which to work as an engineer. The critical skills shortage visa means that larger numbers of international engineers are coming to Ireland and building successful careers.

We welcome engineers from all around the world into the Engineers Ireland community, and our Global Engineers population is our fastest-growing area of membership. If you are considering moving here to work as an engineer, you will need the following:

• A relevant engineering qualification
• To join Engineers Ireland, your qualification should be recognised through our international agreements or else we will need to individually assess your prior qualifications, skills and experience.
