In a rapidly globalising world, Engineers Ireland has been uniting engineers from diverse corners of the globe through its dynamic initiative, the Global Engineers Series, which was launched in 2017.

In 2022, 48% of new members joining Engineers Ireland graduated outside Ireland and the UK. The Global Engineers series is an opportunity to foster global connections and impact the engineering community worldwide.

Six hybrid events

In 2023 Engineers Ireland engaged with more than 1,500 engineers through the series of six hybrid events. These tailored events catered to engineers representing multiple nations including India, Asia, Brazil, Africa, the Middle East, and Spanish-speaking countries.

Each event provided a platform for engineers to network, learn, and grow both personally and professionally, and for organisations to connect with potential candidates seeking jobs in Ireland. Diplomatic support from the embassies of Spain, Argentina, Nigeria, Kenya, China, Egypt, Iran, Morocco, and South Africa added global endorsement.

The final hybrid event of the 2023 series, which will be held on November 22 in Cork, Ireland, aims to engage with more than 200 engineers, emphasising core values of diversity and inclusion. Beyond a gathering, it’s a celebration of the transformative influence of international engineers, showcasing Engineers Ireland’s dedication to an inclusive membership and its role in addressing the skills shortage.
