STEPS Engineers Week takes place next month from Saturday, 5 - Friday, 11 March.

The STEPS Team is now calling on engineering organisations to ‘Adopt a Local School’ for either a digital, in-school, or in-house (i.e., in your organisation) visit, and to register your activities with STEPS.

STEPS will support you by:

  • Providing you with a simple guide and training videos on how to adopt a local school for an in-school, in-organisation, or online digital visit.
  • Providing you with hands-on engineering activities to carry out with children.

We know our members are busy professionals, but we would be delighted if you could undertake a school visit either in person or online. We are here to help you all the way!

Visit our website for support materials.

How organisers can support STEPS:

  • Carry out an engineering themed activity with children during STEPS Engineers Week.
  • Share photos, videos and updates on social media.
  • Register your activity.
  • Encourage evaluation using STEPS surveys.

Access promotional materials and supports

Registered organisers receive access to materials to assist in the promotion of your activities. This includes template social media graphics, text for social media posts, sample press release copy, Engineers Week 2022 logos and more.

Engineers and Engineering Organisation Webinar

A 30-minute webinar will take place on Wednesday 16 February at 12:30pm, to run through the support materials for engineers. Register your attendance now.

STEPS Engineers Week is coordinated on a national basis by the Engineers Ireland STEPS programme, which promotes engineering and the importance of the profession to children in Ireland. The programme is funded by the Department of Education and industry leaders Arup, EPA, ESB, Intel and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
