Learning objectives

The learning objectives are:

- To understand the changes brought on by BS 8102:2022 

- To learn about the different basement waterproofing grades

- To learn about the different waterproofing protection types and their application areas.

- To highlight the roles waterproofing barriers can play in protecting against ground gases and VOC's

- To highlight the importance of sustainability in construction.

Course outline

Basement waterproofing is one of the most significant and critical areas of the construction process. When you combine this with the fact that waterproofing is heavily linked with the concrete works, the number 1 aspect where errors occur, you can soon appreciate how high of a risk basement waterproofing is to construction professionals and contractors alike and therefore how important it is to get it right first time. The aim of the CPD is to provide participants with an understanding of the different basement waterproofing grades and waterproofing protection types, as well as highlight the recent changes brought on by BS 8102:2022.
