The Department of Transport’s Decarbonisation Plans for the Transport sector - Monday, 31 January 2022 at 5:30pm 

In this webinar Caoimhín O Ciaruáin, Assistant Secretary for Climate Action at the Department of Transport, will discuss Department of Transport’s plans to deliver on the commitments set in the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Act 2021 and Climate Action Plan 2021 (CAP 2021) to halve emissions from the transport sector by 2030. He will examine the various elements of climate action for transport and some of the challenges faced in delivering the required reductions in this sector.

Join the Energy, Environment and Climate Action division for a webinar examining how Ireland can achieve its goal of Net Zero 2050. With 19% of energy used in Ireland by industry, decarbonisation of this sector is vital. Watch our panel of speakers discuss how much can be achieved through efficiency and electrification and what additional steps are needed to decarbonise industrial energy usage.  With speakers from the alumina, cement and biomedical devices sector, attendees will gain an insight into how industry is progressing with their climate action goals as well as asking questions of this informed panel.
