Chartered Environmentalist

Chartered Environmentalist is a professional title recognising environmental knowledge, understanding and skills to protect and enhance the environment in a sustainable way. Across the world, Chartered Environmentalists utilise their environmental expertise to instil client trust, transition to sustainable practices, lead departments, make strategic decisions, advise Governments and work as highly-skilled practitioners.

Becoming a Chartered Environmentalist demonstrates that an individual has been judged by their peers to be working at the highest standards in the environmental aspects of their work. Successful applicants shall be entitled to use the title Chartered Environmentalist and the designatory letters "CEnv" after their names. The professional title provides a clear way for environmental professionals to signal this knowledge and expertise to employers, stakeholders, decision-makers and clients.

Engineers Ireland has become the first organisation outside the UK to be licensed by the Society for the Environment to award this important professional title.
